Custom 3 D bands was born out of two families firsthand experience with Type 1 diabetes.

Five years ago the founder’s son Connor, was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Learning to manage and monitor this condition was a huge adjustment for Connor and his family. Connor has adapted incredibly well, becoming very independent and conscientious about testing, giving himself insulin shots, and counting the daily carbs at meals.
 
Because Connor is so outgoing and athletic, we wanted him to wear a wrist band that identified his condition wherever he was. Connor tried several of the diabetes identification bands available on the market and found them uncomfortable, fragile, and not very "cool" to wear.

Our Marketing Director's son, Blake was 6 years old when he was diagnosed on July 2, 2009.  The onset of his symptoms occurred relatively quickly and we were all shocked and surprised by the diagnosis.  The summer of 2009 was filled with lots of diabetic education, and we are still in the process of learning how to manage this disease.  Blake is our true hero though.  He takes an active role in monitoring his blood sugar.  Blake is an active, fun, and high energy child who likes to involve everyone around him in the good times.  You will notice that these bracelets come in many different colors, and Blake wears at least 2 or 3 of them proudly each day  

Custom 3D bands was started to provide people like Connor and Blake with a medical ID band that clearly identifies their medical condition, while being durable and fun to wear.
